Camping in the Northeast Corner of Yellowstone

We established camp on Pebble Creek, and after exploring did a little pebble carving.

Connor waking from a nap in the tent--nice warm tent!

Trout Lake. A gem, and well worth hiking the steep trail that leads to it.

Soda Butte. Endless source for Connor of butt jokes...

Black bear seen from the road.

Somewhere on this hill is a wolf den with four pups and three adults. We know they are there because of the crowd of wolf watchers who gather on the roadside with powerful telescopes waiting to record any moment.

We were not lucky enough to see any wolves, but we did see some evidence.

Wolf scat. (Does that count as seeing a wolf??)

Elk, the first of many we would see today.

We shared Mammoth Springs Cabins with a family of ground squirrels. Way cuter than the squirrels we have back home!

A rainbow on our last morning in Yellowstone--a beautiful end to our visit.
